MPA Chairman Charles Rivkin has outlined the collaborative effort between the MPA and Google which has started to deliver results in the fight against content piracy. In ten countries around the world, including Australia, Google has removed a number of piracy-related domains from its search results to help enforce court orders requiring ISPs to block access to priacy sites.
Rivkin says that “effective legal tools and data-driven policy, coupled with meaningful cooperaton, can yield results” and encourages Google to continue to find ways to step up its anti-piracy efforts and, in doing so, protect creators, innovators and consumers.
