Netflix has progressed with plans to crack down on password sharing.
An ‘extra home’ fee for sharing accounts between households will be charged to subscribers in multiple South American countries from late-August.
Additional ‘homes’ will be available to add on to an existing household account from US$2.99, with basic plan users able to add one extra home, standard plan users can add two, and premium plan members can add up to three.
Users will still be able to travel outside their home and use the service without incurring any extra fees.
The company plans to roll out the additional fees to all countries it operates in by early 2023.
