Media companies move to licence content for AI

While many copyright lawsuits against generative AI platforms are making their way through the courts, copyright owners are operating on the assumption that AI companies will need to take licences to content to use it for training their models.

Recently, more and more media companies have reached licence agreements with AI companies individually. And, several start ups have formed to aggregate content into large collections for AI platforms to licence. There are now so many that in the US they have formed a trade association, the Dataset Providers Alliance.
