US singer and composer Maria Schneider has filed a class action lawsuit against YouTube, Google and parent company Alphabet, alleging YouTube screens copyrighted works that infringe on composers’ rights as copyright holders.
Schneider claims she and many other content creators are denied access to YouTube’s copyright enforcement system, Content ID, which protects only the most powerful copyright owners such as major studios and record labels.
