Dynamic site blocking orders in Canada may soon curb piracy of hockey broadcasts

Bell Media, Rogers Communications and other broadcasters in Canada have applied for a dynamic site blocking order to protect their broadcast rights for National Hockey League games.

The injunction they are seeking is not targeted at a specific site or streaming service but instead aims to block the unauthorised broadcast of NHL games, no matter the source, similar to court orders in the UK to block infringing streaming of English Premier League games.
