Japanese authorities this month shut down an anime pirate site operating in China. It’s the first time an international anime site has been shut down and sets an important global precedent.
The site was used by more than 300 million people worldwide and caused extensive damage to the industry, contributing to the estimated $13 billion loss in revenue of the anime industry due to piracy
