The man who Russell Crowe calls “the godfather of Australian cinema” shares some of the highlights from his long and fruitful career. While much has changed, from digital projection, to the rise of streaming, he says that the experience of watching a movie in a theatre is still a powerful and unique experience that won’t be extinguished by emerging technologies.
On Piracy, Finney says that the form of it has changed, but not its existence. “In the old days they had to guard against thieves who would steal the film canisters containing a new release on the night they were dropped off outside the cinema”
