This insightful article delves into a relatively new, and growing, method of piracy – illegal subscription services. It’s estimated that these services bring in $2 billion a year in ads and subscriber fees and achieve 90% profit margins. These services copy the traditional streaming business model, offering a wide range of content, available to stream for a monthly fee. However, they mostly undercut the likes of Netflix and Disney by offering a broader range of content for a lower fee.
