Authorities in France, Germany, Romania and Switzerland have taken action against an organised crime group which was involved in multiple ransomware attacks against companies and institutions across Europe.
Supported by the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), four places in Romania were searched, two suspects were arrested and numerous items seized.
The estimated profits of the international crime group, which also targeted the health sector during the COVID-19 pandemic to extort victims, ran to several million euros.
