Avigail Gutman, vice president of intelligence and security operations at
UK-based video technology provider Synamedia, explains the myriad ways in
which her team gathers intelligence on pirates to help protect clients’
content from theft.
The company cooperates with anti-piracy organisations around the world,
often accompanies police on raids, and scours the internet for discussions,
tools and pirate services in 20 languages.
“Law enforcement agencies are not preoccupied as a top priority with video
piracy,” she says. “So one of the things we do is bring in the evidence that
we’ve gathered to support law enforcement activities. We do this all around
the world.”
