Japan cracks down on anime piracy

by Fahim Ahmed, Medium — August 17, 2020

The Japanese government has introduced tougher piracy laws in response to an increasing number of pirate and leech websites. The first major sites, KissAnime and KissManga, were removed on August 14 after 10 years in operation.

To coincide with the new laws, 30 Japanese anime companies have come together to launch a new legal YouTube channel named AnimeLog providing free anime episodes to viewers.
