Five men have been convicted in Las Vegas of operating the pirate service Jetflicks, which was one of the largest illegal streaming services in the US and ran for more than a decade.
The service offered access to a content library larger than Netflix and Amazon combined and charged users $9.99 per month generating millions in subscription revenue, none of which went back to the copyright owners.
Motion Picture Association senior EVP and global general counsel Karyn Temple called the verdict “a landmark victory for intellectual property rights.”
