MPA hires FBI official to lead ACE

Larissa Knapp – the fourth highest-ranking official at the FBI – will become the MPA’s next Chief Content Protection Officer leading the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).

Knapp was most recently in charge of the FBI’s National Security Branch and commenced her career as a special agent investigating computer hacking and IP crime.

Her goal at ACE will be to deepen partnerships with law enforcement agencies around the world, with the goal of protecting creators and consumers.

“Larissa’s extraordinary background leading investigations teams across the world and successfully pursuing criminal cases will undoubtedly take ACE’s content protection efforts to a new peak of excellence,” said Charles Rivkin, Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association.

In the seven years since ACE’s inception the coalition of rights holders has grown into a global anti-piracy powerhouse with more than 50 members around the world,

The work of ACE is critical to disrupt the global piracy ecosystem through criminal referrals, civil litigation, and cease-and-desist operations, and to protect the legal creative market and reduce digital piracy.
