Over 1 million football piracy videos removed from YouTube

LaLiga’s anti-piracy efforts saw more than 1 million videos removed from YouTube and more than 360,000 removed from social media platforms last season. 

The Spanish football league‘s anti-piracy director Guillermo Rodriguez said that “according to the European Intellectual Property Office, piracy causes a loss of more than 60 billion euros and more than 400,000 jobs in Europe every year”

The huge numbers show the scale of sports piracy for leagues around the world.
