A new study commissioned by the English Premier League in Singapore has revealed the scale of cybercrime associated with illegal streaming sites.
Analysis of the top 25 illegal sports streaming sites revealed that half of all ads placed on the sites were likely to be high-risk, containing either malware or redirecting to scam sites.
One such site required users to install Adobe Flash Player upon which malware would be installed which could be used to steal personal credentials.
