In Russia, the Memorandum of Cooperation between rights holders and search operators has been extended to August 1 after it was due to expire in January 2021.
The regulation requires search engines to continually check and remove pirated content from their platforms within six hours. The tool has been viewed as effective since its inception and a permanent draft law is currently being discussed by the industry.
