Russian cinemas turn to piracy, but viewer numbers still tank.

In a throwback to the Cold War, Russian cinemas have started screening Hollywood films – illegally. 

Whereas in the Soviet Era the only way to see a Western film was to get access to a smuggled VHS tape, today cinemas are using the internet to quickly download bootleg copies. 

But eye witness accounts reveal that pirated films might not be enough to get Russians visiting local cinemas at the moment.
