Tackling sports piracy requires deterrents and incentives

New research has revealed that disruption to viewing and personal consequences are the two biggest deterrents of watching pirated sports content. The report also found that attractive incentives, including flexible pricing or free legal content, will help to curb the consumption of illegal content more successfully than lecturing consumers on the ethics of piracy.
