Indian filmmaker Suneel Darshan, known for high-profile Bollywood films such as Inteqam and Andaaz, has filed a case in Mumbai against Google CEO Sundar Pichai and five other company officeholders for violation of the Copyright Act. Darshan alleges that Google has refused to remove links to his 2017 film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha’which is screening on several YouTube channels.
Darshan claims his takedown requests have been ignored and says, “My entire copyrighted movie, apart from its songs and sequences from it, have been uploaded and monetised, and I have helplessly watched such illegal acts.”
