Following up on anecdotal evidence that lapsed pirates in Australia have returned to the illegal activity, Nick Bonyhady from Sydney Morning Herald has investigated whether the proliferation of streaming services, fragmentation of content and rising prices might be pushing consumers away from legitimate streaming services.
Asked for comment, Creative Content Australia highlighted the sense of entitlement that pirates feel if they are already paying for one or two streaming services and can’t find the content they want through their existing subscriptions.
